Omega Alpha International
Closing the door on yesterday, opening the door to a brighter future.
Reverend John "Mitch" King was born in 1941 in Tampa, Florida. He entered the U.S. Air Force at the age of 18, and retired from active duty in 1980. Mitch entered into the ministry in 1981, and served as an Associate Pastor in two different churches in Phoenix, AZ before starting Living Springs Assembly of God in Glendale, AZ in 1983.
In 1995 Rev. King resigned from Living Springs to start Omega Alpha Crisis Center. The crisis center provided counseling services ranging from family and marital relations to financial management. The center also furnished food and rent/utilities for eligible clients. The crisis center itself closed in 2004; however, Mitch continues to counsel families across the U.S.
Mitch began traveling to Africa in 1997. His military background and ministry experience have culminated in preparing him for global ministry. Uganda, Kenya, India, Thailand, and Brazil are some of the nations where he has ministered. In each of these places the plight of the orphans and vulnerable children captured his attention and has led him to establish Omega Alpha International.
